TesioPower - representatives for the world’s most popular computer program for Thoroughbred pedigree analysis.
John remembers the days when pedigrees were constructed manually in “split pedigree books” - to construct a single pedigree could take hours especially if the lines were of relatively unsuccessful families or new to the country. Enthusiasts and other researchers would have to subscribe to all sorts of publications (most notably Stud Books and Stallion Registers) that cost thousands each year to be able to construct these pedigrees. TesioPower, the computer program, changed that. Once purchased and installed this computer program provides access to over a million complete pedigrees that can scroll back to the beginning of the species 300 hundred years ago.
John encouraged the USA Breeders Cup program to include horses bred in South Africa in the hope that sufficient of the sires at stud in SA would participate and hold a mini-series in SA or attach their name with added stakes for participating sires progeny in races here. The first phase is in place - special dispensation for stallions at stud in the Southern Hemisphere were granted by the Breeders Cup committee and discussions into the endorsement of races here has begun. At the same time horses sired by registered stallions in SA now qualify for automatic entry to the entire Breeders Cup program in America without the punitive entry fees.
All of the stallions in the Freeman Stallions portfolio participate in the G1 Goldmine pedigree program. G1 aims to guide breeders to find internationally proven crosses in local pedigrees.
